“Why do cars have grilles?” Well, besides enhancing the aesthetics of your car, they also improve the ventilation of the engine’s compartment and prevent overheating.
A Grille Mesh is the pattern inside an Automotive Grille and has many styles and types depending on the Vehicle. Sport Vehicles or Vehicles with Sport Packages usually have a Honeycomb or Wire Mesh type to allow as much outside air into the front grilles as possible for cooling purposes. A Billet type mesh is usually a horizontal or vertical line pattern, which is very common on most vehicles.
PERFORATED MESH TYPE
A Perforated Mesh looks like when someone takes a sharp object and pokes multiple holes into the surface, creating a pattern of various holes in the grille.
HONEYCOMB MESH TYPE
A Honeycomb Mesh is very common on Sport Type trims or Vehicles like the Honda Civic Si. This is usually in a “Honeycomb” pattern, with multiple hexagonal shapes adjacent to each other.
BILLET MESH TYPE
A Billet Mesh is when there is a pattern of Multiple Parallel Horizontal or Vertical lines next to each other. This pattern is pervasive on most standard grilles with Base level trims.
WIRE MESH TYPE
A Wire Mesh looks like lines weaving each other, similar to a chain link fence. This is common on luxury packages or sports packages for aesthetic purposes on the Grille.
